Purpose of these brackets?

I did the same thing too but I got the air dam from auto fair on here it wa like 175 shipped I think.

I need to ditch mine and cut the valance down bad just havent had any time to get anything done

I put a 08-10 2wd air dam on mine, it's a little shorter than 11-13 but you have too drill a couple extra holes and yes those two brackets are for crash control, i guess so you don't mount a ricer.......:naughty:

Took those off mine when I cut my valance. There is only about 1.5" left of mine, it was just enough to cover the lip that hangs down.

Its to "try" to keep the truck from running on top of a car in the event that you rear end someone. If you ask me a 8500lbs truck isn't going to be stopped by those brackets.
