Putting an OBS Motor In An E99

As some of you know a good friend had a E99 with a bad motor. He brought my 95 OBS motor out of the parts truck. I know we have to switch injectors, valve cover gaskets and harnesses over. Also change fuel bowl over and plug the return lines on the heads right. So my big question is the turbo are the OBS and E99 the same or not? Are the pedestals and up pipes the same? Is there anything else I need to know or change.

Swap the long block, everything else change.

The turbo, fuel system, accessory attachments are all different.

Plug the hole in the valley from the fuel pump...

Thank you for the info. I think I read somewhere that it's a 1" freeze plug for the fuel pump hole right?

7/8 freeze plug iirc. And you will have to swap the hpop resovoir to mount the sd fuel bowl to the obs motor

And of course you will have to use all fuel lines from the sd motor

im putting a 95 motor in my truck as well... i used the E99 front cover..the 95 had a drain back valve for the HPOP that keeps you from using the 17* HPOP..finding a used 15 for the drain back isnt as easy...also some up grades was done to the front cover for the water pump and LPOP..
