hey guys question,

started my injector and non vgt build, and just for ha ha's i went over a couple studs and they were loose(enough to get a 1/4 turn from 230 lb torque value... did the studs 4-6k miles ago. whats confusing is the truck has multiple dyno runs etc and coolant level has not dropped a spec, engine is tighter than a ducks ass... should i retorque while i got it torn down.. only thing to take off is evap box. thanks

No, you shouldn't need to retorque these studs. The only studs that need to have a hot retorque are ARP 625s or something like these, but they are to be done right after the head job. If the stud job was done correctly you should not need to. We had a customer in the past try to do this on a 24v Cummins, and ended up breaking a stud off!

sounds great thanks man. the studs were done by a senior master tech that has literally done 100+ gasket jobs- i think i am ok? i would thinkg that if the torque was messed up then i would be spewing coolant etc etc
