The truck has been running great until today... I went to work and went out to the truck and fired it up and it was running good, then all of a sudden it was having a real rough idle and the cel was on.. Sat there for about 4 or 5 mins and then all of a sudden the engine light went off and it started running great again.. Drove it about 15 miles shut it off, refired and idled good for about 5 secs then cel light and rough again.. 5 mins later cel is off and truck ran fine back to work.. I dont have my scanner with me right now so i cant pull the code..(The check engine light goes off and right when it goes off the truck runs great. the second the cel comes on the truck runs like crap). Does this sound familar?

Thanks

I have more symptoms since i had time to mess with it today... Real rough idle, engine has a different tone to it,no boost while reving up, egts running around 4 to 500 degress at idle, when i turn the truck off it sound like a airplane.. I looked for the sensor to unplug it and i cannot for the life of me find it. Can someone please post a pick of it on a OBS.

Thanks guys

i finally found the sensor after i took of the black plastic cover off the top of the engine.. I unplugged the sensor and the truck is still doing the samething. does this mean the sensor is good or bad. Im going to try to take the pipe off tomorrow to see if its clogged up.. Should i have reset the CEL light after i unplugged the ebps?

Sorry guys just realized i have this in the wrong section..

clear the code and see if it comes back

some guys say they have run them unplugged for a long time with no change in function, but I'm about to tear into mine, I got the tube from dieselorings and the sensor.

Not sure what "tube" y'all are talking about but one thing you might want to check is the valve cover harness. One of the plugs fried on mine a few months ago and I was only running on 6 cylinders and it ran real rough. One of you plugs could just be lose and that is why it comes and goes.

Oh ok gotcha. The push rod and cylinder under the turbo. Yea I just did my D66 and EBPV delete pediatal on Thursday and it looked like mine was leaking pretty good and looked like it was about to blow

No theres a tube towards the front of the engine that exhaust flows through that gets clogged IIR. Theres some threads on it on other forums.Yeah if you dont live were it gets super cold then deleting it is the way to go.

My guess is a valve cover harness issue. Lose connection or the contacts melted inside once of the connectors.

Yea you are going to have to find it or explain more because I don't get it the only "tube" that I could think of is the ccv tube but I don't think that is what we are talking about

i came back up this morning to work and disconnected the sensor and cleared the codes and now it will start for about 2 seconds and shut back off. no throttle response what so ever. I was able to pull a second code and it was p0472. I data streamed the ebps and it stayed around 22.1. that was with the truck off and with it running for the few seconds it did. what does the 22.1 mean? is it good or bad?

Do you think carb or break cleaner would help clean it out?
Im gonna try to take it out tomorrow morning. And see if its plugged up, i seem to think that its the actual sensor
Can you get a reading with it unplugged
I will try that in the morning, thanks

Yea I saw the post about one of the guys getting the tube from diesel orings so I went and look

Im thinking that i may just get a new tube, that way i know its a new part on there and not have to worry bout it later...Thanks for finding that link
