My buddy just bought a 00 auto 4x4 it started acting like the under valve cover harnesses were bad. It would run fine then all of a sudden like it was running on 4 cylinders. Changed both sides with dorman harnesses. Only BC its his daily driver and didn't have time to wait for factory. On his way to work this a.m. and the truck started acting up again

I've heard of the tube in the fuel tank breaking and causing this symptom on less than 1/2 tank.

Pretty much a guarantee to be those chitass junk dormans.
I don't care if someone needs their chit today, tomorrow, next year, I would never put junk like that in a engine.
This isn't a "do what you gotta do" situation.

I might have forgotten an important detail. My buddy just bought the truck after it sat in a barn for almost 8 years

check that harness for mouse damage.. but I doubt it.. get a couple of new UVCH's that say something other than Dorman on them..

Dorman is good for one thing, however.. trim fasteners..
