Scan tools

I am looking for recommendations for a new scan tool. I have an otc 3417 hd scan tool that is pretty much worthless and basically only reads codes. i am thinking about snap on but what all will they monitor?

we use ford IDS software. Never had any issues with it.

I have Auto Enginuity w/ the Ford Support... LOVE it. Full diagnostic, and access to the Ford systems. I changed my ABS for the 35" tires the other day, easy-peasey. I paid $350 shipped.

Only down-side is you have to have a portable computer to use it.
