The best thing I can come up with right now is to mount a Kindle HD (8.9") in place of the stock unit and run XBMC on it.
It would be nice to have something larger than 8.9", but the people viewing it are only a couple feet away and the stock unit is 8" and they don't complain about it. So a more vivid, vibrant 8.9" display should be fine.
I can play just about anything with XBMC. Videos, music, etc.
One could root the Kindle so that its running full Android and thus run Firefox, games, Google Play, etc on it. Once it runs full Android, they can use a wireless keyboard and mouse on it if they want and do all sorts of things.
Seems like the best solution ????
I'm hoping the Kindle HD price falls a lot after Christmas. They are $300 now.
