sct x3 cable question

I bought a sct x3 for my 6.0 but it didnt come with the cable to connect it to my computer. The x3 has a cable connection on the bottom and on the top, which should I use and can i just pick up a cable a best buy or do I need to order it from sct. One last thing do I need any software for my computer?

Software should be on SCTs website. It's just a regular USB1.0 cable that printers use.

The use connection is what you want. The connector by the top is for data logging external inputs like a wide band.
