Got one milled for a 66mm wheel. It got bitch slapped by a billet wheel, but I will get it to the turbo shop to see if it can be machined out.

I love my 38r with a WW2. Dang near a 1:1 boost to back pressure ratio. Instant spool and the billet wheel really quiets it down. Knocks out 38psi with my PIS 175/80's.
Great street or towing turbo!!

I've been running a 38R since '08 and haven't managed to wear it out. The only complaint I have about it is the noise, but a WW2 takes care of that.

You installed a WW2 and noticed a noise reduction? Whistle or what?

We have a customer with a billet 38r freshly installed and that is all he can talk about is how loud it is.

Mine was quiet too except for a certain pressure range. If I remember right, it would howl at around 5 psi. Never got around to check out the cause of the noise as it ended up in a few pieces first.

Mine is about as quiet as a stock turbo. It does howl some between 2-5psi when the engine is cold...but once up to temp it's very quiet.

Haha you take it wrong! Probably installed 20+ at this point.
The billet wheels we use weren't huge on quieting them down.
What exhaust housings are most of you using?

Stock here... it only really wines now around the 5psi mark.. after that its just the high pitch normal turbo scream. Before the billet wheel and the fifth wheel in tow, I couldn't even make a phone call cuz my buddies would complain that it hurt their ears.... after the billet wheel, it made it more tolerable and woke it up well..
