Well here is my latest project. I just had windows tinted. I removed toolbox and installed a factory ford Bedliner. I also have 2" drop shacles for the rear not installed yet. Performance stuff is here just not on truck. I'm trying to decide on the wheel combo. everyone keeps telling me to leave the stock xl wheels for the sleeper look. I like that idea but how will I make it halfway hook? I've looked at getting a wider street tire for the stock wheel. My other option Is a set of 2008 harley Davidson wheels like I have on my 4wd. They look like new but that ruins my element of surprise when the stock looking truck sucks the paint off the opponent. What do you think?

I think the harley wheels with some 285/50 or 305/50 would be killer on there

Thanks for the replies. I know it would never hook on street tire from a stop but from a roll it will be insane. My buddy has a work truck 08 single cab with ladder rack and it hardly spins from a roll tuned to the max. I would run et streets all the time if they had the right size. I like the idea of the harley wheels with 305-50-20 tires or 22s. Keep a short diameter like stock and roll out!

I love the stock look. If you can find some half way descent tires for those wheels... I say leave them. Less rotating mass and over all weight = faster!!!

can't rock the steelies

Harley wheels are the best IMO :D

If you want something that looks stock-ish, you could put some 6.0 20's on it. the flat 5 spoke style mimics the factory steel wheels.

on second thought... IF you have the factory steel wheels widened to 10-12" and run a set of these: http://www.mandhtires.com/M-H-Drag-Radials/390-40R17

I would definitely give the steelies a pass :D is it a 3.55 truck?

It is a 3.73 axle ratio. It locks the converter stock at 45 mph. About 10 mph earlier than my other 2 did stock. If I did the harley wheels. I'm thinking a 305-50-20 in a toyo proxes? I also love your idea of the street slicks on the steel wheels. That's wild.

red IMHO is one of the hardest colors to do up right, you have to commit one way or the other to black or chrome wheels. Nothing in between really works. paint match everything for sure.

My vote is a 20x10 or 22x9.5 or so. Dont want too much hanging out of the fender on a low 2wd. Cool project cant wait to see where this goes.

Yep you are very right. I looked at chrome bumpers and wheels but it totally took the mean word away. The black and red spells tough. I like the harley wheels mainly because of the black inserts. Im sure i will figure something out.

you gotta be careful w/ the FX4 grill... red is one of the worst colors for staining/fading. you can clay bar the truck a couple times, and it should get you close to matching the color code of a new grill, but if you're not careful, you'll have a very different color grill up front vs. the rest of the truck

Well guys i know it would not be long. Here is what I found. We all know what they look like. I found a set complete with caps and lugs and are in very good shape and they are mine. I think I will do these with a street tire of some sort. Toyo proxes maybe? And I also think painted red bumpers. How does this combo sound?
