That noise sounds very familiar. It's almost identical to the noise I had with ported fuel rails when my fuel rail pressure would jump all over the place at idle.

It was the fuel lines from the pump to the rails that made the noise.

That would make perfect since as the rail pressure was jumping all over the place. Whats odd is I really can't even see what having the extra filter bottom seal would change. Its not like it was blocking a port or anything. Truck was still making full rail pressure so hopefully no damage was done from this stupid little mistake.

Moral of the story, don't rush things right before a trip.
