I will be down a few times next summer with her, might have to meet up! Only problem is that it will probably be stock by then - less the stereo.

Putting the motor in another truck? I just really want the sail panels. I might try and make a set, never messed with fiberglass. But i'm sure i can figure it out.

Maybe...:)

That was the first time I had ever used fiberglass, and it turned out great.

Sail panels came out nice, Dave. Very similar to mine before I went pillar mount.

It'll be different by the TS race this year. 4 way active, no rear and swapping the JL amps out for the new line from Linear Power. I'm also considering scooping up some old school Linear Power amps and sending them in for freshening up.
I've been talking to Ray at LP and the specs he's sending me are almost unbelievable. His new stuff has everything a Tru Billet has WITH all of their upgrades for 1/2 the price or better. They're still gonna run about 1300 bucks per....but good god are they gonna sound great. I'll pm you my last email from him.

My electrical is all stock. 1900w rms for me, both amps fed off the drivers side battery with 1/0 and a full 1/0 ground run all the way to the battery.

That is going to be completely amazing! From the sounds in that email they are going to be some ridiculous amps, and that price really is nice too!!

The only reason I added the high amp alternator was because of the extra lights I put on the front during the winter months. It seemed to work fine until I would let it idle with everything on.

I can tell my dash gauges dim when the bass hits. I have a little over 3000 watts rms though. I'm worried ill fry this kicker with low volts and that would piss me off. And these kickers are power hungry so there not running at full output. I only have the sub amp turned up 1/4 of the way. Dave theres many choices on that website for alts. Mines a 6G i believe but they have a bunch of different 6g's for ford and they dont say what the difference is in them. They do have the best prices iv seen though. I'm worried even there 240amp might not be enough

Also there 240 kits are cheaper than there 200amp kits. I wonder why that is. I'v never built my own alt, is it something that's very difficult or not to bad?

If you order from them, just call and he will set you up with what you need. Very nice and knowledgeable people over there.

They are not too hard to do, you need to have a good soldering iron though. I will see if I can find a link to rebuilding a similar alternator.

Hey unbroken what are you doing for an alt? And are you running batteries for just your system?

Just a 160 amp alternator and dual 1050CCA batteries. With the big 3 upgrade it's been fine for years.

Do your Big 3 upgrade first and see where that gets you. Your whole system isn't pulling anywhere near max unless it's turned all the way up and playing a huge transient. What do your amps fuses total ?
If their power ratings are honest it should be about 10 amps per 100 watts.
1000 watt amp....100 amp fues, etc.
If you have a 1000 watt amp with a 50 amp fuse...it's not a true 1000 watt amp, more like 1/2.

And I have not done the big three but I really need to stop being lazy and do it. Do you remember how much cable you needed? I have 0/1 for my amp wiring so What size should I go buy? I think I'll go to the local electronics store and get some nice welding wire. It has a pretty good strand count
