Speed sensor code

2009 6.4 truck threw 0500 speed sensor code so I put new sensor in and traced all the wires and everything checks out. keep getting the vss code but no symptoms of it like no speedo, the trans acting up, or no boost. someone help

You need to check the wiring from the sensor to the PCM. Looking at it doesn't cut it. You need to electrically check that there are no open circuits, short to ground, or short to power. If that doesn't show anything you'll need to look at live data to see what the signal looks like. It should show a pretty steady speed, but if it sets a code the speed is probably erratic. If it is, finding that can be difficult.
