The SSX was my favorite VGT by far. Ran VGT-40, VGT-SS, and VGT-SSX. The SSX runs a bigger exducer on the turbine(94mm iirc) compared to the SS. Would work fine with stock injectors, might have your tuner add some fuel down low. It is one hell of a turbo, and at that price a steal, loud whistle! Whoever buys it will have a smile for sure.

Awesome info! What did you notice in difference between the SS and SSX?

I saw no perceivable difference in lag, it lit and was gone. Definitely more air up top. The op has my turbo, it is a really reliable turbo. I punished it, surely he did as well, still strong. It has a very unique whistle. I dealt directly with Tadd when bought with the need of being able to tow moderately with his 185's, worked very well.

I ran a SS with stock injectors for a long time, spoolup was just fine.

Gah, this is a steal. Wish I still had my 6.0L to throw this on. Would have worked much better than that PowerMax I bought...

Hey buddy you and I need to talk about this SSX I bought from you. I had it sent to barder for a rebuild just to be safe and THE TURBO IS SHOT!!!!!!!!!!! Compressor wheel is completely f****** mangled, vgt solenoid plug is broke. Now you told me in a pm that your mechanic pulled it apart and told you it was perfect....... SOMEONE HAS LIED!!! I don't know how or if you plan on making this right but please pm me.

Yeah you need to relax man I sent you a video of the truck running completely fine with no grinding what so eever, you agreed on it, I was going to sell that turbo to a friend by me except you offered more, I had no issues selling that to a friend. Not a damn thing wrong with that turbo, if the compressor wheel was mangled then you would have saw that in the video and/or it would have ran like garbage. Do not put me out there like im a dirtbag. I went out of my way sending you videos as well as dropping the price for you because I respected your profession and what you do. Id love to see a video of this because you saw the video of the compressor wheel. Which can be uploaded AGAIN

I have seen this turbo first hand on many occasions. Turbo was in perfect conditon and I was going to buy it until something in my family came up which was more important to spend the money on. Dont know how the turbo would get damaged between the day I seen it which was the same day it was sent out. I was actually sad to see it go considering I was going to buy and it from SmokedF747 who is a very reputable person and have bought manhy items from him

that turbo looks like it may have seen some major egts in its life. sometimes aluminum comes apart in chunks when it melts. there may have been no noise at all when the truck was running because metal wasn't contacting metal...but that doesn't mean the wheel wasn't damaged from heat.

As james said, this would not have been seen unless fully taken apart, I have rectified the issue and bought him a brand new wheel I did not agree how it was handled. But its done and over and I hope him the best with the turbo
