I have a set of stock AA 7.3 injectors. They have 290k miles on them and one of them did have a bad copper washer allowing exhaust to blow past it which covered the injector below the bottom o-ring. No soot blew past the bottom o-ring and should not have gotten into the internals. The engine did run when these were pulled. I would only use these as cores personally, but I'm sure with new o-rings they would get someone by for awhile in a pinch. These are cleaned up and boxed ready to be shipped.
