Stuck in 1st

Got a 96 7.3, 2 wheel drive. 150k ish and it won't shift out of 1st.
It's full and clean, don't look brunt. Any ideas?

It could be no signal from the vehicle speed sensor. It could be the transmission range sensor indicating first gear instead of D. It could be a stuck 1-2 shift valve. It could be a failed intermediate clutch. It could probably be a few other things that I haven't thought of, too.

Thanks. Never thought to check the gear selector.
I'll check that before I take it to the shop.

Final got it looked at, the tranny is shot. Metal is the fuild.

Dang, happened to me, in line trans plug got wedged and cooked the trans.

Yeah, not bad for almost 200,000 miles as a company truck.

Mine hit just passed 200k, I was towing with it when it died though haha. Sucked!
