Ha, that's my picture.This was the first pedestal I know of that went for square to round using a full 3d machining. Two operation justto make the transition without using and undercut end-mi.
Yes it's heavy but oh well. The two halves are actually tongue and grooved to each other and then were clamped in a vise prior to welding for a o-ring sealing effect.
This housing is fully divided and really likes a divided housing as well.
It had lots of unnecessary machining and material which drove the cost up but looking cool was a really big design consideration as well.
