What is everyone doing to address the surface rust on these components?

I have seen several trucks around town that appear to have stainless or aluminum drive shafts, but cant find much data here.

Just sucks to have the truck all cleaned up, and then cause it is lifted that is the stuff you can see...

I agree this is a joke from ford. My GMC had a great looking underbody and driveshaft. Ford really needs to paint these components and give a decent looking drive shaft. My buddies 2011 came with an aluminum one it looks sharp. My brand new 16 looks like the underneath has been through the ocean before putting it all together, frustrating.

Pretty sure all GM have aluminum.
Not sure why you're trying to compare them.

What do you mean your not sure why I am trying to compare them. I am just saying I am not sure why ford doesn't do the same. That's the one thing I don't like about ford in the undercarriage and how bad it looks.

So it looks like the longer wheel base trucks got the steel shaft.
The others have the aluminum.

Yeah ford cheaped out here.
Even on my 94 the shaft is painted.

Not sure if this is accurate. My ccsb 2015 was a rusted up gem from the factory. Or are you saying the single cab are aluminum?

Mine is a 2015 SRW Platinum that lives in Texas... not a high rust environment...

Guess cleaning and paint to help Ford out is what I will do.

I got same problem. Going to have to paint mine. You would think with the money they make on these overpriced trucks. A coat of clear is nothing. But my new platinum looks a beater and I'll handle it lol

5 dollar can of rustoleum epoxy paint made for refrigerators, strongest paint in a can.

I'll take a bit of surface rust to have a ford.

Same issues here. Take a look at the components that are steel under the dash as well!!! Might find more rust!

The day I brought my truck home, I took off all 4 tires and painted any bare steel I could see with VHT epoxy chassis and roll cage paint. That was back in 09, still looks perfect to this day, although my truck only has 21,000 miles on it.
