Digging up old thread. To the OP did this fix your problem permanently? My truck is doing the exact same thing

A new TPS seems to have fixed it as far as I can tell. I haven't been running my chip the last 4-5 months in order to preserve my trans. (The chip made even the slightest problem more apparent.) I don't notice any surging like I had experienced before.

I don't know if I got an extraordinarily crappy piece the first time or what happened but this one has lasted a year without trouble.

I'd lean more towards a EBPV than I would TPS at first.

I live in La Salle currently. I appreciate the offer, but I had the dealership hook it up awhile back while I had it in for something else. It came out clean as a whistle so it wasn't a code issue.

Thanks again

Have you looked into your IPR?

I got five bucks on that..

actually, have you changed the oil recently?
mine was doing it (to the point it would stall). I pulled TSB's at work, and there is one on this condition. First thing they do is have you change the oil, as the anti-foam additives may be depleted.
I changed my oil, cleared the IPR codes, and it's been running fine ever since..
