I got a 97 F350 4x4 that I am slowly turning into a sled puller. I am wanting to build my own traction bars. Question is....can I take off the rear sway bar to make more room and will it be ok to leave it off?? Its not going to be a daily driver. Thanks for any help.

Haven't had a sway bar on my 250 ever. Pulls awesome and handles great.

Sent from my x2 somewhere

I removed mine. If towing, carrying heavy loads, or slide-in camper, then you should use one. Normal driving, I haven't noticed much difference. I have noticed better articulation off road.

I added a sway bar to mine and noticed flatter cornering and no real deterioration in ride quality.

I have both traction bars and sway on mine without clearance issues I added the sways and did notice an improvement during cornering

but if you don't need cornering stability pull em and sell them
lots of folks want sway bars for their tow rigs
