I've replaced quite a few unit bearings over the years, on my own rigs and others...

I can honestly say I have never installed a Timkin set...

Do they cost more... Yes...

Are they worth it??? I used to think not, but after installing one this weekend, without a doubt they ARE!

With the aftermarket ones, they require you to reuse your old studs (not wheel but the unit itself), and supply a new O-ring... The Timkin comes with all of this.

The pure quality of the unit is visually apparent...

BTW, I pushed this last one a little too far, I think that last 400 miles was on borrowed time. Right front had over an inch of movement top to bottom...:jawdrop:

Thanks to RiffRaff for the quality parts (and price).

Moog comes with new studs. Also, at least here, Timken is cheaper at autozone than moog is at advance.

What was everyone buying if they werent getting timkens? I just bought some Timkens, and felt like they were pretty well priced at Rockauto, 172 each. Unless you go with the absolute cheapest ones, Timken isnt really that much more...?

I got a smoking deal from Clay, but I have not seen them for under $240-$260...

I paid about $125 for the last one from Rock Auto, and it lasted 70k or so...

Is your truck an 05+? Im not sure on those ones, but for 99-04 177 is the price..

SP580205, type that into Rockauto, Timken 4 wheel ABS single rear wheel fine thread studs, 177. Plus if you spend time on FTE, you know you can get 5% off any rockauto purchase, they have a coupon code in the vendors section of FTE.
