10200# dyweight toyhauler
2317# pin weight dry
60psi in tires
demco hijacker hitch
what should i run in the bags?

30-35 psi should be plenty.
Start low, add air till it's level, lol.
Twenty-three hundred on the pin isn't that much.

I pull a bumper pull w/ anti sway leveling bars and bags. Needs like 60-70psi in them to get the truck level. Empty the trailer has 2500lbs of tongue weight.

There's no way yours is set right still. You should be able to take almost all of the weight off the rear wheels with those leveling bars. Sure as hell shouldn't need that much in the bags to do it.

It's a bumper pull, not a 5er. A lot of tongue weight on the trailer and it's a heavy bitch. W/ a couple toys in the back and the leveling bars pulled hard it's not too bad, but still need 60-70psi in the bags for things to be right.

IMHO Forest River has a f'd up design for this trailer. Ought to be a triple axle or have them a little further forward. I don't think they really planned well for a genset and all the other junk in the nose of the trailer. A Hensley hitch is in the future for it.

Used to have a 2004 coachman chaparral RKS bumper pull that was nose heavy as well. Loaded the truck bed full with a full size grill and a lot of other stuff. It sat before the trailer was on it with 2" of rear squat. Put the trailer on and then the bars and brought it right back up to where it was before the trailer was on it. And could've gone up further. No bags, no extra helper springs. Just a stock cclb f250. That's why I say something isn't right with that setup.

On the CAT scales, w/ the leveling bars disconnected, there's 2500lbs more on the rear wheels than when the truck is empty. It was like 1000lbs less than empty on the front. W/ the leveling bars (1700lb Reese anti sway) I'm able to put 1000lbs back on the front of the truck. W/ 70psi in the airbags things are level.
I've had the gross up to 25,000lbs so that trailer was nearly 16,000

I still get some sway when it's windy or passing a semi, but everything else seems OK. I'd really like to get the Hensley (or propride) to get rid of the sway as some of the vids I've seen are downright frightening.

I've had the RV place check over my setup and they nod their heads.

I've grossed 31k with a bumper pull trailer and didn't need close to 70psi in the bags. That's 3500lbs of lift.

Yea, I see your point.

Next time I hook up to the trailer I'll see what I can figure out.

Sadly, on Mar 5th of '16 my wife and I hit a deer on the motorcycle. Didn't end well. 5/6mo later she had fusion surgery on c5/6. Then in January of this year she was rearended by some dumb biotch texting and driving 100mph. That was a bad day too. I've recovered from the mtc wreck, but wifey is still hurting pretty bad from it and her accident. She describes things like 'shards of glass in her back'. Dumb motorcycle is still under repair too. So our ATV and Motorcycle trips have been curtailed and we haven't used the trailer in a long time. Originally I justified it w/ trips to shows for the bumper project, but embezzlement by my partner put that under.

Wifey is doing better now, but even with the mtc fixed and some nice suspension upgrades, I doubt she'll be able to ride. Even assuming no wrecks, one big jarring bump would be bad for her. The ATV is totally out. I probably ought to just sell all these toys and take up knitting. Yea right...

I have F350 CCLB with traction bars, overloads, and bags. My trailer is 42' total weight around 15k and pin weight is around 3500. I have kept pressure around 15-20lbs, anything more the bumps start to lift off the overloads and things get real bouncy. I probably don't need the bags.............

Keep in mind that everyone's bag pressures depend heavily (ha) on the leaf springs on the truck. Guys saying they only use 20psi but have 2002 or 2008 trucks are completely different animals than the guys with 11+ trucks. Not to mention aftermarket springs like Deavers.

I'd echo everyone else though, start low, increase til about level. Drive and see how it feels and let it settle in, check again and add or remove pressure.

I have to run 60+ in mine to level it out depending on how much is in the garage. Empty garage the pin weight is 4k+ but toys in the back bring it down to 3,500 with the living quarters stocked and ready. Last trip moving I ran 85psi and it was the best it's ever ridden but trailer was very full.
