Truck cutting out and stalling when cold...

On my E99, when you start it cold, you'd better let it sit and idle for a bit...if not, it'll cut out and sometimes stall on you. It'll idle fine, but if you give it throttle, it'll ABRUPTLY cut out (like rapidly cycling the key, warning lights even come back on like the key was cycled) and sometimes actually stall. It always starts right back up...and it's only when the truck is cold, on occasion. Colder it gets, worse it does it. It's just a nagging problem I'd like to straighten out...new CPS, new fuel filter, new air filter, new air freshener (lol). Any ideas?

I can't say mine would stall but until it warmed up it had absolutely no power. WOT and it would barely pull a small hill outside my driveway. Back off of it and get back into it maybe twice and it would finally light off.
I know it had the exhaust back pressure valve on the pedestal would bypass the exhaust gases to prevent full boost ramp(couldn't think of how to say) until the minimum engine operating temps were met. Disabled it and got a bypass plug for it before I started my mods.

Don't have that issue anymore, lol. I always let it warm up but can start it up and go NOW if I want.

Cps. My obs was doing the violent cutting out thing. I went through a few new ford cps's before I swapped in an ancient used black original cps, and the issue went away.

My EBPV is bypassed, Lethal. And it's funny you should mention CPS, gho. This all started the night after the Ford dealer performed the recall for the CPS. But I've changed out the CPS with a new Echlin unit and still the same issue when cold. Maybe I need another one.

Ford OEM CPS only.... And my truck was doing the same thing to me, found out that the wires going to the ebpv sensor on the front of the motor had unwrapped themselves and were contacting each other shutting the whole truck down. Dash would do same thing. I would sit there and crank and crank but no start. Finally figured it out when I saw the arching with the hood open and my father cranking on it... Left me stranded pretty far from home

My EBP sensor went out and killed my truck. Drove around for over a year with it unplugged.

Only use Ford or International sensors. parts house sensors are famous for being bad out of the box or dying in a 100 miles.

Went thru several cps as well. Truck would seem to miss occasionally with the last BWD pos and under hard throttle would cause shifting issues which was really scary.
Installed the international (black one), problem solved on that issue.

The Ford OEM CPS started this issue. Went in for recall. It's in now, still doing it. Might need the black international one. And my EBPV is already bypassed. I appreciate all the help fellas!!
