Check engine light came on this morn with this code. I did a search on here and it seems to be related to a recall. There is a recall on my truck which I bought used with 52000 miles 2012 XLT. Seems to be a Nox sensor. Is it ok to clear the codes and drive it or do I need to take it in to dealer??

Update: Spoke with dealer. The Nox sensor (if that's what the problem is) is covered under warranty. It's a communication error with sensor A. They are fixing it tomorrow along with the emissions recall.

Update: dealer now says Nox control module is bad and it's $410 not covered under warranty. Haven't had this truck a month yet and I'm starting to think I made a bad choice with a Ford. Am I jumping the gun? I love the truck but it seems the maintenance horror stories are becoming real very quick.

So....without the control modular the sensor won't work..??? And the nox sensor is part of the emissions system....so I'm not seeing how this isn't covered. Dleet and be done

I've been pricing ****** packages. I don't really care for more horses, just want to get a little better MPG and not have to worry about DEF, regen etc. Any recommendations on ****** kits?

Try another dealership ??? Call that dealership and tell them you need to buy all the factory emissions stuff to back to stock. Have them email you the list. If the modular is on that list then at least you know they're scamming you

So how are these not part of the emissions system. I had to look under emissions parts to find this. It appears to be plug and play, wonder if I could just replace it myself.

Spending on mileage. I can't remember what the new ones are. The 6.4 was different. It's in your manual.

100,000 miles on a 6.7 but dealership is telling me it's a "wiring" problem and isn't considered part of the emissions system. I just don't but it.

What does the wire do ??? Lol. Sounds to me like the dealership you go to is very shady. Id take it to another dealership and see what they say.

If you have 100k it will jot be covered. It is an emissions item which on the 6.7 is something like 5/40 or 5/50. It the same thing with the egt sensors before yhe warranty extension recall came out. Those were 3/36 though. Powertrain is motor only fo the most part. Exaust components are not included, im sorry to say...

I was afraid of that. Thanks for the clarification. It's looks like something I can put on though. Does a new module have to be programmed?

I thought you understood that the emissions system is not covered by the powertrain warranty but under its separate warranty.

Even if the truck is out of factory warranty there should be some kind of 30 day /3000 mile warranty from the dealer...??? Depending on your state laws...if a vehicle has to go through inspection the dealership is required to fix all components that prevent a pass
