Wanting some opinions

I have just been toying with the idea of this but what do you think? I'm looking at turbo upgrades and was thinking the 38r, but then I thought what about making a d66 for the SD. My plan was either to get ahold of beans and see if they are able to get the compressor housing off of a 99.5+ machined to accept the 38r wheel or if they sell them. If not I know of a good machine shop I'll take it to. Does this sound like a horrible idea or something that could actually work out pretty well?

Beans will not sell you just the housing..
