If I was looking at snagging a 6.7 what would be a good year to start with? I had heard the 2011 were not all that good, so a 13-16? I would be looking at used trucks.

11s are fine. They did have some cylinder head issues but by now they have either been fixed or had issues so you really don't have much to worry about.

As far as the trucks go 13's and up have some nice features that a subtle but worth it. Big screen on the dash, auto up and down windows all the way around ect. I love my 12 still. Longest time I have ever owned a truck

12 got an improved turbo, 13 got bigger brakes and the revised dash and onetouch up/dn windows and a few other odds and ends. 15s got bigger improved turbo, bigger fuel pump.

Luv my '12 and w/ a streetmaxR and a bigger pump it'd run forever

i thought 11-12 turbos were the same. if you are leaving it stock, 11-12 got the best mileage. Tuned 11-14 are the same. 15-16 are worse but make better power. 11-14 transmissions are stronger than 15/16. Like they said, my ford touch came out in 13+ as well as bigger brakes. I would avoid 11s though as they had valve issues, trans issues and turbo issues(when tuned).

more tuning platforms available to 11-14 and more options for custom tuners.

Well I got a 6.4 now its all paid off, but I want something I can have long term. The 6.4 has its problems but the 6.7 appear to have less. Lord knows there is enough threads on here. I am jus trying to figure out a path. Thanks for the help.

I would go 15+ if it was me and I did it again but 13+ are great as well. 11-12s also had plastic oil pans which were prone to leak and a pain...

Plastic oil pan is an easy fix. I wouldn't be worried about that.
