Wipers and HVAC temp control

Got a couple of small issues with my truck.

Every once in a while my wipers will stop working mid-swipe. Sometimes I can get it to complete the cycle if I change from delayed to continuous.

My second issue might just be me. I do not have the auto temp controls on my truck, so it's just dials. Whenever I run the heater in the winter time I have a very very small window with the temp dial where the air coming out the vents is not blazing hot or freezing cold. My old 7.3 wasn't this way and neither or any of the other Fords I own....all with manual controls as well.

Bump....anyone got any idea on why the windshield wipers will stop mid-swipe?

Bad MFS (wiper switch).
Wiper circiit uses a ground return signal to "park". They ususlly start acting up in the Int mode or can be noticed sometimes when activating the hazards in a "delayed" flashing
