I'm looking for a new setup up and don't know whether I want to run hybrids or conventional. Its gonna be a daily so I'd like to be able to get decent mpgs. Ive heard guys are seeing good mpgs out of compound setups but not sure. If that's the route for me just looking for a bit of info. Thanks in advance.

Hybrids didnt do anything bad to my mileage. Me sriving my truck with stock, 175/80(a codes), or 250/200 is a 15 mpg deal. Even lifted in a ccsb on 35s. Its driver in my world, not equipment that determines mileage.

^6.0 thread gentlemen. Don't know if for some reason hybrids throw mileage out the window on them, but hell I could get 16mpg with my 7.3 and 238/100 hybrids.

I'm in the same boat and I'm on the fence as well. I understand how hybrids work but I just can't wrap my head around the huge benefit. For a fuel only truck a conventional with full icp is the way to go but then lances truck made 7xxhp with 255 hybrids and a stock hpop, that makes it hard to justify the $1300 high volume hpop.

Matt how bad of a mileage drop do you normally see with hybrid vs conventional? It seems like oil dillution is a thing of the past. Also you would think if youre seeing more fuel consumption you'd be seeing higher egts as well.

As of right now mine are being switched to hybrids. Hybrid injector takes less oil pressure to function which means you can have bigger hybrid injectors without upgrading your HPOP.

At the sacrifice of injection pressure. I know trucks with hybrids run really good but I need an hpop at this point anyway.

turning my injectors into 255/100 hybrids plus the price of a factory hpop is almost the same as doing a diesel site pump and 255/100 conventionals. Going with the conventionals seems like a no brainer.

're read my post.

Hybrids and stock Hpop will cost as much as conventional and adrenaline.

i reread your post i get what your saying now. But if you are planning on building the motor completely up what are goals going to be then. will run the conventionals or hybrids then. You say your going to try and get into the 11s now are you meaning high or low 11s? If it was me I would rather bigger injectors and turbo to try and achieve your goal of getting the truck into the 11s before spraying the **** out of it just to get it into the 11s on a stock bottom end.
