    97 F-Superduty 4wd Build (Pic Heavy)

Sorry for a very delayed update. Ive determined the used intercooler i installed just days prior to the failure was the ultimate cause. Must have had some dust/debris/oil in the bottom and managed to suck enough through the valves to trash them. I am curious why only the exhaust valves show...

    97 F-Superduty 4wd Build (Pic Heavy)

By putting a bit of air pressure to the exhaust ports (im aware thats not how valves are supposed to work but here we are) and spraying soapy water I found all exhaust valves on that side to be leaking progressively worse from #2 (barely any) to #8 (a lot). There's definitely some pitting on the...

I did not perform a leakdown test, but there was no "popping" sound in the intake or exhaust when running, and no more blow-by than there was before. The valves appear to be sealing perfectly. these heads are only about a year (of use) out of the machine shop, brand new valves, seats, seals...

Finally got the problem side head pulled off, no sign of valve/piston contact, valves are seated perfectly, no crack in piston, I do see a very slight score in the cylinder wall but not enough to indicate ring failure. Any of you gurus have any ideas before I tear it all the way down?

Little update... finally got some time to work on it. I got the one injector back from full force. they said they found some debris in the nozzle and replaced it. Got it back in the truck and there was no change at all. Waited a week for a compression tester adapter and got around to testing the...

    97 F-Superduty 4wd Build (Pic Heavy)

Found the culprit last night its a mechanical issue in my #7 injector. Passed buzz test but shut off at #7 on the CCT. Unplugged the solenoid while it was running, didnt change the way it ran at all but the smoke stopped. Pulled it out, all the o-rings look fine. Going to call FullForce when...

    97 F-Superduty 4wd Build (Pic Heavy)

Update.. truck sat for a week or 2 waiting on a new radiator after finally cracking the original one. Got it installed last night and not even 12 hours later I believe I broke a rocker arm (or hopefully nothing worse) as I got a bad miss and blue smoke after a hard pull in 3rd gear (spun and rev...

The flanges i found in the depths of the internet somewhere, i cant recall the company at the moment. The rest is just 1-1/2" sch40 stainless butt-weld fittings from mcmaster-carr and i used v-bands at the up-pipes.
