135K on the clock. With a load and upon a hard acceleration, truck will go into limp mode and then shut off. Starts back up just fine. No hard codes or CEL.
I'm wondering if it could be a bad shift solenoid.
I was running some errands around town. I put the hammer down and felt a major CLUNK in the tranny. Engine felt like it went into limp mode for a couple seconds...maybe, and then stalled out. Pulled to the side of the road and performed a key off, key on and the truck started right up and...
That's what I figured. Back in the day when I was still wrenchin', every rebuild on a big truck would see a dyno test. We always brought that engine to its knees. No break-in required.
