I have ordered the available '94-'96 engine wiring harness and an oil temp sending unit for a '96. I disabled the ebp sensor years ago so the difference in ebp sensor connector location should not be an issue. I will report back to this thread on what was required to make things work properly...- NotThatGuy

Cold start upgrades
Just a suggestion ... I would check that the injector armature clearance is .004" and injector solenoid clearance is .005" on all injectors. The injector poppet values have a tendency to wear over time and lower the clearance. Clearances below .003" will cause the cold oil to not allow the...- NotThatGuy

Hum, maybe it does not work after all. I found the above on the interwebs from 2015. Unfortunately there was no followup from the poster as to if the cps signal issue was correctable, or how to resolve the problem.- NotThatGuy

That helps a bunch. It looks like the 42 pin C138 connector matches up. The engine harness terminates at this connector So it looks like that is one big question answered. Thank you.- NotThatGuy

Will a 1996 F6TZ-9A451-F engine wiring harness work on a 1997 f250 HD ?
I just can't find much info on if the main (40 pin ?) connection that is beyond the left valve cover is wired to the same pin positions on both. Or if any of the connectors that are required to run the truck are different. If the A/C compressor, or other non engine connector is different I'm ok...- NotThatGuy

3 times ? I'll try and keep my truck away from yours so it does not learn this bad habit :) I was not saying it could not happen, just that it would not be the first place I would look. Maybe I am a bit sensitive to the "It is the injectors" comment because 80% of the time when I ask a shop...- NotThatGuy

Please excuse the late reply.... Regarding sensors, I would unplug the IPC before attempting to start the truck and check that the nut on the back of the IPR is tight. If the nut was tight, and unplugging the IPC sensor clears up the idle and smoke issue, then the IPC sensor is probably bad...- NotThatGuy
