    build for towing recipe

Its funny, go back another page and read CurtisF comments. http://powerstrokearmy.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54632 Seems like people are still coming at this from the wrong direction. He ran 250/200's, 38r, and most importantly....tuned properly. Stock oil, stock head bolts, stock springs...

Found the issue. Swapped IPR and it fired right up. started messing around putting stuff back together and it died after i bumped harness, started right back up. bumped harness, died. wouldnt start. same issue as before, low ICP. started poking around and wires at IRP connecter were frayed and...

thanks for the advice guys. Gonna do some more troubleshooting before dropping coin on a pump, might be something else after doing a little more reading. this Bosch pump prob only has 50K max. scan tool says 94% DC and 105 ICP while cranking but IPR could be sticking. buzz test good. just did...

What's the best option these days? My Bosch rebuild just went out, looking to see if there's an alternative to that or just stick with a Bosch 17*. I see Full Force makes a stage 1 for around the same price. Still running Swamps 175's so don't need, or want, "Big Oil" (already went through...

    Ford HD4R100 Fluid.

Thanks Mark, I actually read your comments to that effect in another older forum elsewhere after making this post and doing further research. I already topped it off with Mercon V and I'm confident it's fine. Appreciate your continued contribution to posts like these. To the question, the age...

Clearing oil from cylinders after injector R&R

Yea man, it's been a few years, you got it right. :D I've done it that way several times with no issues but I'm also aware I might have been lucky lol, and I just can't afford to break things right now due to tight schedule and a long road trip ahead so I guess I'm more nervous about things...

    Ford HD4R100 Fluid.

Not sure exactly where this belongs but the transmission came from Ford so not really aftermarket. Got a Ford built HD4R100 several years ago, just recently installed it. Tag says Mercon V, but reading around there's all kinds of "don't use Mercon V" etc. I wouldn't even have thought about it...

Thanks. Do you happen to know what the possible issues are turning it over with starter?

Cold no start issue when sitting awhile

Did you ever check the fuel pressure? Did you check ICP/IPR when it wouldn't start? GP and relay shouldn't matter in 90* weather. Usually something like you're describing is an injector o-ring problem.

Clearing oil from cylinders after injector R&R

Hey guys, been awhile since I posted here. Finally doing some work on the old 7.3 and new orings and gp's are on the menu. Was refreshing my knowledge and reading some articles, ran across a pdf from Swamps that said blowing the oil out of the gp holes was a no-no and could cause engine damage...

You are correct, fluids tend not to compress, which is why they work so well in a pressurized hydraulic system. Accumulators act as a reservoir for pressurized fluid. The larger the volume of accumulated pressurized fluid, the smaller the percentage of oil flowed by the injector will be in...

Yea lol, of course. I was simply tossing that out there. Your post was more of an opportunity to do so. It was in response to a couple comments I read this morning over coffee in this and another thread regarding boost numbers. I remember being dismayed that the 38r made lower boost numbers than...

I had the uncontrollable urge to quote David Lott here. "Boost is a measure of restriction". Meaning, boost pressure is not something you can use to make a linear comparison unless you are comparing the exact same turbo. You can have less boost, and more HP, since you can flow more air for a...

I don't know where this tangent ended up as I stopped reading the thread this morning around page 30, but I can corroborate everything you, vref and Tarm said here. Its tuning, period. I live at 9000ft and tow over 11,000ft with a 38r. My truck was a smoky hot doggy mess that I wanted to drive...

There is over a quart of oil in each head, which acts as an accumulator of sorts.

While your post was overflowing with great information, I thought this was noteworthy. I would also be interested to know what kind of oil/fluid they used. One other key point you made was the maximum usable pulse width, I saw a post earlier in the thread with some pulse width numbers at higher...
