    KC Turbo 6.7 Testing Thread

We had some interesting results from our 6.7 2015 powerstroke billet wheel testing. We have been trying different designs to see how much more power we can squeeze out of the stock turbo. Test Truck: 2011 f250 with 2015 turbo and 2015 HPFP. Truck Source Diesel & Off-Road tuning and No limit...

    I'm stumped....

Yep... ran super clean. Spooled fast. AWESOME setup. I think the w/m is what did it in. I was pushing around 760hp and 11.90 at the track and added some w/m. Only made a few hard pulls with the w/m when this happened. I won't be running that stuff anymore.

    I'm stumped....

HUGE thanks to Tony for helping me figure this out. We figured out the problem... but it was way worse than we thought LOL. 800hp + quick spooling compounds + stock rods = BAD IDEA Here is why we could not get cam sync, The cam pin sheered and the gear spun. With the cam so far out of...

    KC Turbo 6.7 Testing Thread

Plan was to have one ready by the first of the year... but the process is always slower than what we hope for. Billet wheel options should be getting tested in the next week. Then we are going to do some simple compressor wheel swaps (similar to the streetmax). See if it is even worth it on...

It is not just HP that kills these motors. IMO huge tq numbers way down low can cause big issues also. (also crazy timing also has a big effect) 580hp should be fine 1300tq at 2000rpms should be fine... but I don't think I would want to be making any more tq down low. I think that is why a...

We did some more dyno testing on our 2011 f250 6.7 test truck. The results were much more impressive than we were expecting. This test was to show how much power is gained when swapping on a 2015 cp4 fuel pump. Truck mods: stock 2015 turbo, EGR/*** ******, No Limit Air intake, and EZ Lynk...

    Hp Tuners

I keep hearing it is great for the ficm tables... but not so much the rest.

I don't think it would have helped very much. Truck seriously runs so clean in the mid range... I just don't think there is enough fuel left over to make much more tq in the mid range. The top end gets a little dirty so I can see a lot more improvement in that area.

Only mods are EZ lynk with truck source diesel tunes "high flow exhaust" and no egr No Limit Stage 2 intake 2015 turbo (unmodified)

I would imagine that the ability to hold rail pressure can/will change the HP output of a 2011. We did a lot of research on the subject before starting our testing and our numbers fall right in line with what we were told to expect from guys much more experienced in the 6.7 game. When asking...

Here are the results from the No limit intake we swapped on. Fit and finish were great! Thanks Mike! I bet the gains would have been much bigger if we had more fuel. Truck seriously runs super clean (almost like a stock truck), except in the upper rpms where you can see the gains from the No...

Well... it will be tough but doable. I am at 540hp right now since I added a no limit intake (after the dyno above, will post results in a few minutes). So 525-550hp should be doable on stock 2011 fueling IMO

Having a drop in, reliable, dual ball bearing turbo would be AWESOME for the 11-14 guys. Especially if it can make around 550hp like the 2015 turbos. But I don't think we are going to be making an SST version of it.

    Highest HP on stock fuel

I have seen some pretty incredible dyno numbers... I think Adrian still holds the record for a something like 650hp with stock injectors and drop in vgt LOL... Truth is that anytime anyone goes to back up these numbers at the track they end up around 450-475hp... I have yet to see a true 500hp...

That is a lofty goal of ours... modifying the BB turbo is going to be tough. But once we get our 2015 design done that will be our goal. A descent BB drop in 2011 turbo that can hold up in a compound setup would be AWESOME!!! Can you imagine having the instant spool of the 2011 BB turbos with...

After we get the 2015 designed nailed down, we plan to move back to the 2011 platform and see what we can come up with. I did drive the truck with zero tuning changes for about a week, it ran ok but the shift points and vane position needed a little work. I did get a revised tune that was WAY...

Yep, he made some tuning changes to the shift points and boost tables. I ran it on my old 2011 turbo tunes for a few weeks and it ran "fine" but it runs WAY better with the tweaks he made.

The 11-14 turbos do spool up incredibly fast... maybe we can come up with something that spools just as fast as the 11-14 turbos but not choke out and die out so fast. Maybe the spool up of the 11 turbos and power of the 2015 turbo???
