A few years ago a guy built one and did a write up about it on here. Can't remember who it was though. He put it in a really nice enclosure. Ended up looking like something purchased, not built at home. -

Or, you could pull the valve covers and simply unplug the injectors one at a time. It is a little messy though. -

Go to the junkyard and find a truck, you need both ends of the 42 pin connector on the driver side valve cover, cut them with as much wire as you can. Find a wiring diagram that tells you the injector wire locations, or simply trace them back to the connector on your truck. Wire a toggle... -

Unfortunately, no it doesn't. You have to build a break out box for that. Or use side cutters and cut injector wires at the harness. -

What kind of shape are your under valve cover harnesses in. If you have to replace them, DO NOT use ones from parts stores. Most of these are made by Dorman and completely suck. Buy either Ford or International.- Arisley

Personally, I would run it with no chip until I got all the air cleared out and checked for leaks, a retorque of the head bolts, etc. Stick a scanner on there and make sure everything is up to snuff. Then put the chip in. Double check the connector on the PCM and make sure you have it cleaned...- Arisley

Cyl Contribution Test & Injector Placement
A lot of people expect the scanner to tell you that the wire is shorted to ground 1 foot 8 1/2 inches from so and so connector. When all it can do is tell you what it is reading. -

7.3 has no "limp mode" Check output voltage on alternator, check fuel pressure. Fuel pressure is not monitored by PCM. -
