CP4 High pressure pump disaster prevention kit

They make some questionable decisions sometimes lol. It really was a courtesy thing. I thought about it, but don't have the space to do so in an apartment with very limited parking. Once I have a house it'll be a different story.

CP4 High pressure pump disaster prevention kit

Not quite. I work for a heavy equipment dealer as a field mechanic. This is a customer of ours and I was asked to go diagnose when they broke down on the highway. They towed it to a local G.M. dealer.

CP4 High pressure pump disaster prevention kit

From a beloved cp4 today on a Duramelt with 175k. Guy said he got a fuel filter warning, then it just shut down on him. He said he drained some water out of the filter afterwards, and then replaced the filter. Lol.

    No high end power

I'd do it by hand. As I said, you need to BREAK it free and not just pull on it.

    No high end power

I've had both happen. Only had 1 pull the threads though. That can always be fixed with a heli coil, or weld a new bung on. Or buy a new up pipe. They can be done cab on

    No high end power

Use penetrating oil, not w.d.40. Beyond that, run the engine and get that sensor hot before trying to break it loose. Beyond that, you need to BREAK it loose, not just pull on it with a wrench. Crap like that loves to round off when you dont BREAK it free

IPR 85% No Start, No codes....out of ideas

Sounds like a major high pressure oil leak with the i.p.r. at 85%, or the pump is shot, or the i.p.r. is shot. My memory is a bit fuzzy since it's been a few years since really messing with one, but I seem to remember almost every 6.0 i.p.r. failure I ran into, the h.p.o. system wouldn't build...

    Need some advice

The 1.0 housing will not help e.g.t.'s. Don't think it will really "hurt" but it definitely won't help. Spool would be quicker on the low end, but you lose a bit up top.

EGTs and smoke, out of nowhere

Check your map sensor hose for cracks. In your log, the map sensor reading would equate to roughly 15 p.s.i. boost after you subtract atmospheric pressure, at least here in Texas it is usually just below 15 on the atmospheric pressure.

    New Alternator

One must keep in mind, you're running an i.d.m. and in turn the injectors as well. Everything is electronic even on these dinosaurs. My personal belief is these trucks need a but higher amperage alternator than what they were equipped with.

No start, everything as it should, head scratcher

I'm not at all saying it's ideal, but I'm 99.99% sure a 7.3 will fire off at 10.8 volts and a good starter.

No start, everything as it should, head scratcher

I dont think 10.8 cranking is too low to start

    No high end power

Also could be an e.b.p. sensor issue. Or even a m.a.p. sensor issue

No start, everything as it should, head scratcher

And most importantly, have you double checked the engine oil level?

No start, everything as it should, head scratcher

64% duty cycle on the ipr seems like there is a high pressure oil leak. Maybe the injector o rings, or something else. Is the 2,200 psi constant, or does it start lower and build up to that temporarily? I had a truck kick my ass once, it would build up to a point, and then die off. Ended up...
