    The Rebirth

I think it's great people are still keeping the dinosaurs alive and upkeeping them. These old trucks have character. Looking forward to an 05 front axle coil spring swap in my 97 when time and funds allow.

    7.3 powerstroke exhaust manifold bolts

Do you already have the old manifold bolts out, and trying to install the new ones? The manifolds "warp" and become untrue to the head, making it seem like they wont fit.

    Front wheel bearing seized

Lmao, I used a 36" 1/2" drive ratchet, and it ended up rounding the 1/2" input of the soft ass socket out, so i then welded a 1 1/4" nut on the socket, and now the socket just spins off of the nut after probably 100 ft/lbs.

guages, power windows, radio.. dying out briefly???

On my 02 7.3, the alternator ended up fixing this issue. Not sure if you have the 01-04 cluster, or the 05- up. I've replaced more of the 05- up clusters in my time. I assume in my case, the voltage regulator on the alt was failing. It only happened when it was really cold (for Texas) outside...

    Front wheel bearing seized

The bearing is very lose, probably at least 1/2" of in and out play.l, so no question it is trashed. I'm definitely going to try and see what I can do. I know I'm a good enough welder for that to hold up, but the machine part, I have no way to do properly. And then my guess would be someone...

    Front wheel bearing seized

And do you have the rear axle too?

    Front wheel bearing seized

When are you coming to Texas next? Would you want to take partial trade for this Dana 60?

    Front wheel bearing seized

Was hoping to. I was trying to hold off on the 05 axle swap for a bit, but seems like I might end up spending enough time and money on this, that the swap might just be worth it.

    Front wheel bearing seized

Guys, on my 97 4x4, the front passenger side wheel bearing seized up while driving, and the but is also seized. Due to the depth of the hub, I really cant get a torch in there to cut the nut off, or anything like a punch/chisel. Axle nut socket just ends up coming off (stripping/ beginning to...

Romping idle, "missing" under acceleration, low boost, poor mileage

Oil in the i.c.p. sensor connector?

    Asking for help...

Check the map sensor hose for cracks. It needs to fit tight on the nipple on the intake manifold and on the sensor. And take a nail or piece of wire and poke through the nipple as well to make sure it is not clogged.

Certainly could be, and likely is the f.r.p. sensor

2 blown IDMs, after hydra chip install

And thinking further, I suppose a solenoid could be shorted on an injector as well, so I'd definitely check my resistance on all 8 of them too.

2 blown IDMs, after hydra chip install

So what's causing the idm to fry? You could have a pinched wire beneath one of the valve covers. I suppose you could ohm out the uvch's at the positive pins and other probe on ground and see if there is continuity. That would be a quick easy check to see if that's causing the idm's to burn...

    Cam position sensor

CPS codes can be triggered by continuous cranking without starting as well. I fought my 97 for some time before I figured out my fuel tank selector valve failed, BETWEEN positions 3 hours from home. It would idle alright, 1st and 2nd gear were okay, but 3rd and beyond, it would fall on its face...

How much cranking did you do? And what about the ipr? Same one from old pump?

Need very good running late 7.3 motor

What about that doesn't work? The block is the same, the other stuff is all bolt on and swappable.

    HPOP Rez draining

Yeah seriously just helicoil it. I had a guy whose hpop I replaced, and over a year later, one of the bolt holes gave up. I pulled the hpop, used a 90 degree drill, installed heli coils, and it has been great since. Really not a bad job on a super duty. Obs is a bit worse only if it has stock...
