    Thanks, but I'm good to go. The shaft is all welded up. Will post pics later. It turned out well. The only thing that went wrong was one portion of the welding process kind of distorted the splines, so I'm in the process of dressing those up a bit.

    Found the weak link. It was the adapter shafts I cobbled together. Going to have to beef this up.

    Something just broke between the rear drive shaft and flywheel. I'm thinking transmission input shaft. I'm kinda kicking myself right now. :(

    I'm currently working on a VW 1.9tdi. This motor is notorious for intake sludge buildup when coupling the egr and case venting system. I'm doing away with the egr system all together. And with the vent I'm either going to vent to atmosphere or get a catch can. I just don't feel it's proper to...

    Yea, I thought about mentioning bringing the motor forward, but throwing sheet metal together is probably easier then rearranging everything but the axles. Lol.

    That's unfortunate it required all that sheet metal work. Would a 1-2" body lift have helped?.....but I hate body lifts though.

    What exactly did you reseal? Did you do anything to the high pressure oil system? Perhaps an electrical connection is undone.

    Don't skimp on the quality of the left handed drill bit. Last thing you want is broken drill bit down in there.
