    Torque values for 96 7.3 turbo/pedestal/exhaust flange

That's...a thing? How have I not heard of this???

Is this turbo pedestal safe to use?

Relief cuts for o rings Ok so I took a closer look at the old pedestal as well as the underside of the turbo when I got home. The relief cuts for the O rings ARE in fact on the turbo side, NOT the pedestal side. *whew*. The ring you see in the earlier pics of the old pedestal is actually just...

Is this turbo pedestal safe to use?

I'm more worried about the vibrations from the engine and bumps in the road and stuff though. Do you think that's cause for concern or am I overthinking this?

Is this turbo pedestal safe to use?

Oh good grief you're right! I didn't even notice that. I went and looked at some others online and they're all flat like mine is too.

Is this turbo pedestal safe to use?

Hi guys, I ordered the ebpv ****** pedestal from a place a few months ago and just got around to doing the job. I got the turbo pulled last night and just went to swap the pedestal this morning, and upon unboxing the new pedestal I noticed that 2 of the 4 mounting holes for the bolts that mount...

    Torque values for 96 7.3 turbo/pedestal/exhaust flange

Oh believe me, I used copious ammounts of the PB Blaster. I finally got the thing pulled last night. Only took me 4 days.

    Torque values for 96 7.3 turbo/pedestal/exhaust flange

Thank you!!! Apparently they were all torqued down to about 2,000 ft lbs because after 2 half days and 3 additional trips to lowe's, I STILL have 2 bolts to pull before the turbo and pedestal will come out. I literally had to fabricate frankenwrench contraptions with welded on sockets and use my...

    Torque values for 96 7.3 turbo/pedestal/exhaust flange

Hi guys, anyone have the torque values for the bolts on the 1) turbo to pedestal, 2) pedestal to block, and 3) turbo to exhaust flange, respectively? I'm replacing my pedestal orings in the morning, and I'm going to be doing the full ebpv ****** (pedestal and the valve) while I'm in there. Never...

Best brand of Rear Main Seal to buy

Ok guys, I'm back with not so great news. Apparently the motorcraft seal is on national backorder. The tasca website doesn't show as being "out of stock" so that's who I ordered from, but I just got an email from them this morning saying my order has been cancelled because they don't have it and...

Best brand of Rear Main Seal to buy

Ok so I just took another look at the Tasca part. It is the Ford/Motorcraft seal so that's what I went with. Thanks for the input guys! Take care

Best brand of Rear Main Seal to buy

Yeah that's my thinking on it, if it's accessible I might as well replace it. Especially since I want to keep this truck running for at least another 500k. I did try and find a motorcraft seal, but no luck. See more info in my other comments. Any suggestions?

Best brand of Rear Main Seal to buy

This is the one that Tasca has. It says it's a "genuine Ford Part". Does that mean it's NOS? Or Motorcraft? Or something else? https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts/ford-rear-main-seal-f4tz6701a

Best brand of Rear Main Seal to buy

Ok so I've looked around online and I'm not finding ANY motorcraft rear main seals. I see Mahle, National, Felpro, Victor Reinz, Timken, and SKF. Those are all on Rock Auto. I also saw Tasca Ford Parts has one for sale but I don't see the brand listed anywhere.

Best brand of Rear Main Seal to buy

Hey guys, the question is pretty self explanatory based on the title. I have my 96 7.3 F250 in the shop right now getting the engine pulled to replace the timing cover gasket. The truck has over 315k miles on it and I don't know how many previous owners it's had or if the rear main has EVER...

Coolant leak...where is it coming from?

Hi guys, I have a 96 7.3 with a coolant leak coming from somewhere on the driver's side of the engine, towards the front. It doesn't appear to be coming from anywhere on the top of the engine, or any of the coolant hoses, or the water pump weep hole. It is running down what looks like the...

Fpr bb shim and fuel pressure gauge install question

Thanks for the reply! I pulled all the fittings apart and cleaned the threads, then re applied the rectorseal #5 (a pipe dope that is rated for diesel) and tightened the brass fittings WAY down. I tightened the one that goes into the fpr housing finger tight, then 2 full turns past that...

FPR shim and gauge setup question

Hi guys, not sure if this is the right place for this question. If not let me know. Anyway, I just did the bb fuel pressure regulator shim mod where you put a bb in between the plunger and spring that's located under the 19mm bolt on the driver side of the fuel bowl/fpr housing. Underneath...

    Ideas for mounting winch

Hi guys, I am wanting to mount a 10,000 lb - 15,000 lb winch on my front bumper. It appears to be a custom bumper, it was already on the truck when I bought it so not sure, but it is very similar to a ranch hand legend. I don't have a winch yet. Haven't bought one because I don't know for sure...
