    07 Longevity/recommended maintenance

Maintenance, Maintenance, Maintenance!! My 2 cents: -Use ford/Donaldson air filters for the best filtration. When I had my 6.4 I spoke w/ Aaron over at Rudy's and AFE and both confirmed that the factory Donaldson flows more than enough to adequately feed a 6.4 on factory twins at their max...

Complete Mini D2S 3.0 Retrofit DIY Guide

I recently converted a camry to morimoto hi/low projectors. I also used the factory "high" location and installed amazon no-name H1 projectors w/ yellow bulbs as my fog. It was time consuming over all, nothing, even from MM was drop-in regardless of what "Kit" you buy. BUT take away F3-fast...

    5.4 SPRINGS ON 2WD 6.0

It was a long a$$, cr@ppy day, my bad. But same idea should work. Any ford dealer tech and/or parts dept should be able to run the VIN for the spring code it came w/. Then start there. Used sets can be had pretty cheap if you shop around. W/ the 6.0 I'm guessing 5800 or 6000lb is standard...

    5.4 SPRINGS ON 2WD 6.0

04 are still leafs so I'm not 100% sure as to the spring rate you might need. I used gasser springs on my 08, i want to say 5200 or 5400lbs. There are a couple of threads in the 6.4 area. I do recall going one size up from whatever Jeff @ $par tan used on his. -- really i had to edit that...

    Ford factory 215 amp upgrade

No one replied, and I don't have the $350+ coin to try it. If my alt was dead, I'd consider giving it a try but even then none of the local stores have it. They all would have to order it in and they all want paid in full. I'm good for now but fwiw, it appears to be a legit option on paper.

    Cool, good to know. Thx

    6.0 ******

Did you have any issues getting the 48RE to shift properly? If I understand correctly the 48RE uses a stand alone trans ecm.

Typical mileage to consider EGR ******?

I can run my 05 100% stock tune, no SCT and I don't get the light. I have read it is PCM dependent.

Typical mileage to consider EGR ******?

I got a single owner truck at the 290ish mark. It was 100% stock, minus 2 injectors replaced at the 125kish mark. I have just over I'm approaching 305k. On the motor it was minus'd and de-cat'd when I got it by me and all new Ford injectors. As far as reliability mods that is it...

    cold hard start issue

We had a cold snap down below zero and even w/ two 1050 CCA batteries it barely started after several seconds of cranking. And even then it loped like a cammed big block for almost 10 secs or so then it would idle rough for another 10-15 sec then it was fine. It was not plugged in and hasn't...

    4WD ESOF wth!?!

The trouble shooting guide for the ESOF is pretty long. There is also a module behind the dash near the radio. When that cr@ps out so does the ESOF. Fwiw, the hoses can be an issues as well. IF you decide to replace your hoses go get y connectors from any autoparts store and hose. I can't...

New Best, deeper in the 11's (stock-appearing)

Too crazy, mine was always in the 8k range w/ two folks. Are you striping anything off to reduce weight?

New Best, deeper in the 11's (stock-appearing)

Sounds like fun! Fwiw on your weight, I had an basically identical 100% stock body, no add-ons, 08, 4wd CC, auto and with 1/4 fuel, empty bed and factory 18's it weighed just over 8300 lbs. Aside from your Dana 80 which might have a few pounds on the 10.5, you should be at least 8300. Good luck!

What alternator do you guys run?

A 3G off a mid 90's E350 van makes 215 factory amps might be an option to look into. Or the factory ford unit is 140 amps. Also orielys carries a 135amp version w/ lifetime warranty for the 6.0.

    Replacement uppipe suggestions

I had issues w/ mine. Turbo on, turbo off, turbo loosened up. Pedestal on, off, loosened up, etc, etc, Mine were a complete PIA, including the 2nd set they sent me. I could swap the factorys back and forth without any issue, at night in under 45 min. My last MBRP try took both sat and sun...

    Ford factory 215 amp upgrade

Mitsubishi made a HO alternator for Ford 7.3 applications in a large case 3G platform. I've found them on the 95 E350 HD Clug Wagon on the 7.3 motor. It appears it the 94-95 years E350 7.3 options, however when I do a parts search for the alternator itself...

AMP/Bestop Power running board wiring HELP!

The 04 doesn't use plungers. You may be best off locating the wiring schematic for your truck and then compare that to the steps you have. IF they are amp steps you need to learn which model it is as they've changed controller models slightly AND ford uses reverse wiring on certain years...

    Switch back (turn signal) problems??

The retro source has a forum and some of the toyota camry forums like toyotanation.com may help. They are kind of ricey sometimes but many of them swear by MM. HIDplanet can get retarded but they have some good HID retrofits. http://www.superbrightbulbs.com/switchback_wiring.html I did...
