S475 add on compound Tow Rig

Ok good to know  On the Cumminsforum.com they have some neat conversions, a few of them F250's. Trying to learn.

S475 add on compound Tow Rig

Interesting to know. W/ some of the PSD years using a low pressure lift pump I figured to use that or even stick w/ the 6.0 and use a regulated return to bleed of anything over 20lbs. I'm too stupid to stay stock on a 12v if I have a chance to add any hp.

S475 add on compound Tow Rig

oh thats the "walmart bag/air filter tune" i hear the C-bags mention :blitzed: I"m guessing thats why w/ "HO" trucks are using electric fuel pumps to keep the p-pump healthy. Twins on a 12v is on my mind as my 6.0 is at 300+ but running good. I figure it is worth more running than dead so I...

S475 add on compound Tow Rig

I don't like some of his stuff but his compound set up I was referencing was for the 6.7 cummins. Point being, same 6.7 only the turbos were changed out. LOl, I know. Last I knew, there wasn't a way to add a "tune" to a mechanically injected 12v. Fuel pump and starter are the only...

S475 add on compound Tow Rig

Power driven diesel has some YT vids and in one they had their graphs from a turbo only type swap. 2 single charger swaps then the compound set up. Same tune, same truck. The graphs, to include time to HP/Tq curve was interesting to see. IIRC when they used the large atmo in the compound was...

S475 add on compound Tow Rig

I saw a couple of graphs lately and compounds always made both HP and torque come on sooner, in a properly set up tow compounds. The turbo set ups being the only difference. If he really want's 6.7 power AND to tow, he'll need injectors and a properly set up turbo system. The great thing...

    Do Shocks Make A Difference??

I've had stock, Procomps, Rough Country, Bilsteins, Fox 2.0 and Rancho 9000's adjustables. As much as I hate to say it the adjustables are hands down the best ride I've gotten. IIRC I have my fronts set on 5 and the rears on 2. Lifted, leveled, stock the best ride was w/ the Rancho...

    Is this my Steering Box?

f-it, if it works. I guess same thing w/ autozone or orielys since they have their lifetime warranty. But I will stay away from NAPA AC compressors :fustrate:

    Is this my Steering Box?

:whs: I have a RH on my 05, had to send the 1st one back "for adjustment". I've had ford steering gear replacement in a bronco, 02 F350 and 99 F250 and they were all meh at best. OP, like LL said, might as well get it done. It's cheaper than a lawsuit or funeral if you get into an accident.

05 6.0 lack of power from a stop

:whs: I swapped my plastic cold side pipe w/ a new Riffraff replacement and used a torque wrench on all my boots and that made a noticeable difference in response. My mileage sucks as well 15-17, I know I have 1 exhaust stud broken and the MBRP up-pipes don't fit as well as they should...

    08+ Mirrors Q

Got any links to share for the wiring/switches? Having the fancy mirror options on the older trucks would be a nice upgrade if not pricey.

How long has he been using the Franz? I'm curious on blow-by and compression #'s. If using a good airfilter then if it's not beaten on, theoretically those numbers should be reasonable if he's still driving it at 800k. Class 8 trucks go 1million or more so anything's possible.

Nope all stock but always used Ford filters. I had a by-pass on my 7.3 and all my oil analysis came back w/ really low numbers. On the 6.0/6.4 IIRC Ford sold the patent rights to only a few companies, one being Fram and I've seen the patent # on just one other. And as Jon from Little Power...

VIOLENT STEERING WHEEL CANT HOLD IT

Ball joints bad? Wheel bearing bad? Bad joints on the track bar? Alignment issue? track bar too short / out of alignment? Steering linkage worn out? Poorly balanced tires? There could be a variety of sources. Inspect your whole front end. Good luck, steering issues can be a nightmare to solve.

Nice job, thats always sweet if you can find a way to DIY. I have 305 on mine, almost all oil changes were done by the original owner at Ford until it became mine at 298. But I believe any improvement in filtration will help. Its not a panacea by any means but the cleaner fluid and air can...
