    The light flashed because the PCM can detect that the circuit is grounded when it doesn't want it to be grounded. Do I understand this? With the switch on it does what you want, right? If so, the problem is your tuning. It just isn't asking for lock when you want it to be locked.

    You can monitor the circuit and see if the PCM grounds it when the converter should lock. I think a better way to check is with Forscan to see if the PCM is commanding the lock or not.

    That's the most likely place to have a problem. You need to electrically check the circuit, don't just look at it and call it good.

    If the converter is locked you shouldn't see more than 10-15 RPM slip. 540 RPM is an unlocked converter.

    It is one of those two. I don't know how to tell which one it is without taking the trans apart. It could be a seal on the input shaft was damaged when installing the converter. I've seen that happen several times. It could be a problem inside the converter.

    Two thoughts. One, the caps lock is stuck on your keyboard. Second, the transmission has mechanical problems. It needs to come out and be rebuilt. It could very well be the center support.

    If you raise the pressure too much on the wrong shift you'll break hard parts, not make the trans more reliable. No, it was designed to be reliable without having harsh shifts.

    When the trans is cold the torque converter won't lock. Once it warms up the torque converter locks and now the shaking from the engine misfire reaches you. Fix the engine problem and the trans will be fine.

    You do not need a PTO specific rebuild kit. I'd be very surprised if anyone made a PTO specific rebuild kit. The only difference would be the label on the package.

    It was built by the transmission prototype shop at Ford Motor Company, Automatic Transmission Engineering Office. That's where I worked. We built transmissions for a Baja race team. We won the Baja 1000, the Baja 2000, and many other SCORE off road races.

    I have only seen this done on a full race trans that was not a street legal vehicle.
