    2004 6.0L with 5r110 issues..??

I think you need to rule out an alternator problem causing this. You'll an oscilloscope to do that. Look for an AC ripple in the alternator output. That would indicate a bad diode. I've seen this exact thing happen from a bad diode in an alternator.

    Aftermarket transmission pans 5r110

You got it right. Also, the air around the pan is HOT. How will that cool the ATF? Now if the pan was in the airflow in front of the radiator it would have a small effect on cooling. But it is under the truck where it gets the hot air from the coolers up front and additional heat from the...

    Aftermarket transmission pans 5r110

Yes, there would be more restriction. Would it be too much? I never tested it. You could try it and see. If there is too much restriction it will probably destroy your trans from lack of lubrication. I've never seen a 5R110W trans that had a cooling problem. Why do you think you need more cooling?

    Aftermarket transmission pans 5r110

From my years of testing at Ford I can tell you that no, they won't help cool the trans. All those pans are good for is making the bottom of your truck look pretty.

    4R100 rebuild/no forward gears

There is a good chance that the direct clutch has been destroyed.

    4R100 rebuild/no forward gears

Are the feed bolts under the valve body tight? If so, there is a mechanical failure. Solenoids can't cause this to happen.

    5r110 fault??

    Yes, those sensors are needed.

    5r110 fault??

Those can be the cause of your problems. You can't just remove sensors and not expect to have problems. Those sensors weren't there just because they are pretty, the PCM NEEDS that information to set shift pressures correctly. Without them it just takes a guess. Wrong. The PCM will take a guess...

    Odd shifting

There were many different softwares for the trans over the years. Some did this, some didn't. They got better with the 4R100.

    5r110 fault??

The TFT is an input to shift schedules. If it is colder than 0F it shifts 1-2-3-4-6. If it is warmer than 0F it shifts 1-2-3-5-6. That's the only input the TFT has. It will substitute engine temp if the TFT is bad. I don't remember which one it uses. To me it doesn't matter, either one is the...

    Odd shifting

The converter does lock during the 3-4 shift. That's the way it was designed. If you don't like that a custom tune can change it.

    5r110 fault??

If you're looking at the stock gauge, it is programmed to go to the middle of normal anytime the trans is warmer than 50F and colder than 230F. Changing the internal harness is not much harder than changing the temp sensor.

    Tow mode?

Use tow/haul when you like how it's working, and turn it off when you don't. It never HAS to be on, it's there to make the truck easier to drive.

    Aftermarket Pans?

Your numbers are slightly off for the transmission pan. The correct numbers are 100% for the looks. There is NO added cooling from any aftermarket transmission pan. There is some cooling benefit for the axle pan.

Trans cooler in radiator busted and mixing with coolant

Then how did he get the same mess in the trans cooler line? Bingo! We have a winner.

2003 Ford F-350 Overdrive light flashing and won't turn over now help needed

I suspect the Transmission Range Sensor (TRS) has failed. It's located inside the pan. Getting the codes will confirm or disprove my theory.

    E4OD and 4r100 swap

1997 was the last year for the E4OD with the 7.3L. After 1997 the 7.3L was paired with the 4R100.

    04 shifting issues.

Did you have both batteries disconnected at once? This would clear the memory and that will cause shift issues until the PCM relearns. That's normal. As for what went wrong when you changed the solenoid, I don't know.

    5r110w ATF options / opinions

Yes, it is better than the OEM bypass filter. It is GREATLY improved! The 08+ filter is a finer filter than the older bypass filter. And it filters 100% of the fluid all the time. I'm not sure about that. I think there is a restriction in the filter body, but I don't have one to look at.

    5r110w ATF options / opinions

If you leave the original filter in the pan and replace the bypass with the Dieselsite filter you won't get an effective system. The cooler lines only see 10% of normal flow until the trans warms above 165°F. Before that happens 90% of what normally goes to the cooler is redirected back into the...
