Turbo pedestal oil leak after replacing O rings

I have called and searched all over. It seems the garrett pedestals are nowhere around. Back order everywhere. Not sure what I will try next. Reading this thread kind has me thinking about the plasti gauge though. Might be interesting see what it tells me. Pretty easy to do with the turbo off...

Turbo pedestal oil leak after replacing O rings

Are there any updates to this? First thread I came across. I have a Full Force pedistal and after my 3rd try, with permatex it still leaks between pedistal and block. Was pretty confident it was the FF pedestal and was getting ready to order the KC turbos one, but now I am not so sure they...

    Do it all tire recommendations

It is funny who owns and makes what now. In addition to Avon, Cooper Tire manufactures tires under the associated brand names Dean, Mastercraft, Mickey Thompson, Roadmaster, and Starfire.[20] Cooper Tire formerly manufactured all tires sold under the Sears Guardsman brand at Sears, Roebuck &...

    Do it all tire recommendations

Goodyears are always a crap shoot. Every time I buy a set I say never again. But then afraid to go with something unknown. I currently have what you are calling the wrangler allterrain with Kevlar. They used to be just the wrangler and before that they were the comfort pro or quiet pro or...

    Rear diff ID

I have always run Mobil 1. it is like 75w-140 I think. It is supposed to have the modifier in it, but I usually get a clunking and end up having to add it anyway. There is nothing wrong with the 75w-90 or any other weights in that range. If you are changing it at all, that is more than most...

    Extended cranking, fuel system tests.

I moved the truck a few times this weekend. Now that I try to video every start, starting up cold is pretty decent. Still leaning towards that PCV or injector return flow. but watching this weekend makes me think it is something that moves, like the PCV being sticky or lazy. I am not a sure an...

    Rear drum adjusting issue

Yep, didn't seem like it was going to fall out so I left it. It's been 10 years but I bet I still have that cable laying in the bottom of my locker at work. LOL

    Rear drum adjusting issue

I went through a similar problem and I gave up. Think I found the adjusting cable that moves the star wheel was too short. I had someone pump the brakes while I laid under it and listened and spun the wheel. It never stopped adjusting. First one I think I made the big eyelet on the cable egg...

    Extended cranking, fuel system tests.

Pulled and checked LP rail sensors last night. Dry no leaks. I pulled the return, Interesting, I am reading the high pressure rail pressure. with Zero system pressure it would bounce from 42 to 0 constantly. So I am now wondering about the pressure sensor and pressure control on the High...

    Extended cranking, fuel system tests.

It is surprising how often you read guys putting in a CP4 and although they found shavings and needed it, it did not fix their problem. CP4 could very well be where I end up but I hate guessing and in my case I don't see any reason for it unless maybe I have had low fuel pressure for a couple...

    Extended cranking, fuel system tests.

I have an extended cranking situation and looking for any insight. Truck always starts. First try every time. But where my 2016 starts on the first revolution this 2014 may take 3-4 revolutions to fire up. Does matter if it is hot or cold, sits for a minute or a month. Cycling the key before...

    Should I make the switch?

Guy here at work ordered a new pickup with Tremor package in late march, early april. They gave him a discount for waiting. Was supposed to be here a couple weeks ago. Now they are telling him they have no idea when it will show up. They currently do not have all the parts needed to build it...

Those who have gone to 2005+ axles

Factory master cylinder will work but it is not ideal. I screwed around a bunch with proportioning valves on the factory master cylinder, did not make a bit of difference between stock and completely gutted and bored out. Put the truck together and decide what you don't like about the brakes...

    Obs lift pump question

So you can use the OEM housing and filter, just "should" buy a new lid/top for the housing?

So how are you all liking the new forum software?

Nobody likes change, but it seems like it is logical layout and easy to follow and fine what you need.

    Obs lift pump question

So here is a question I have not been able to find any kind of answer for. Fuel pressure/supply VS MPG. I am on a mechanical OEM pump. It works. I really have no issues and no real need to go away from it. Running 180/0 injectors for years and always seems to do "OK" Of course I do not have...

    Obs lift pump question

What pump did you use? The SD pump work for this? Or how did the Carter compare to the SD pump? I was thinking about doing an E-fuel but I don't mind my factory filter or fuel bowl with heater and sensors in it. Was hoping I could use a SD pump and regulate the return. Dump factory mechanical...

    Lift kit / driveshaft length.

Probably fine, driveshaft tubing is expensive, I would try to run it first. I had to change the bushing in the output housing to take up some slop but been working fine since.

    Power steering /ac Bracket busted....

I think it is very common. On FB seems like someone is always looking for that bracket. It is over 20 years old though and looks like there is lots of oxidation there. I converted to a 6.0 pump with a E series PS bracket. I will never go back.

Trailer brake controller quit coming down 5%

Ditto on breaking the circuit down. When does the fuse blow? Trailer unplugged? Plugged in? On brakes only? If it only blows after you hit the brake pedal then you will probably have to disconnect each wheel separately. Probably have to leave one wheel disconnected or fix it there. If it...
