Correct Coolant
Detroit/Mercedes does as well as the Cummins ISX and it is approved for those. As well as the Paccar MX, and IH Maxforce. I think ford spec has something to do with biodegradable level, or "organic" coolant. Really not sure.- Tiha

I am kind of thinking that. Right now I am more worried about how much I have mixed. I have a coolant leak, the crossover pipe towards the front of the engine. In comparison, 187k and my turbo coolant line doesn't leak. Wonder if that has something to do with the coolant choices.- Tiha

What a confusing mess trying to find the correct coolant. Attached are the bulletins showing compatibility on new vs old antifreeze from ford. You can mix no problem. Also attached is the spec requirements for 6.7 coolant. Which is WSS-M97B44 d or d2(which just means diluted or concentrated)...- Tiha

6.7 extremely long crank
Just wanted to say thank you for posting. I am finally going to dive into this in the next week or two and re reading everything, you answered every question I had so far without me having to ask. -

I am in this camp. I run a 0W-40 full synthetic I think it is citgo. Can't remember. Not ever had any issues. Run it in all my diesels, 6.7 and 7.3 have a ton of miles on it. Back in the 90s. The company I work for, we were using sunoco. Pretty cheap "crappy" oil at the time. Our sales cars... -
Truck cover recommendations?
gotta say I have had great luck with the cheap "20 layer" ones off ebay. Usually pitch them every year or two. They let moisture through, if that is a problem. But used one outside for 5-6 years. Never hurt the paint. Usually the seems start coming apart. I don't know what they are now...- Tiha

Transfer case slip yoke slop
That rubber piece, I think is an oil slinger. Keeps the yoke from filling with oil and leaking out. Yes, that is a BW1356 transfercase. I had the same trouble, Think I ended up ordering online to get the proper bushing.- Tiha

I ran a gear vendor for a bunch of years. Seems like every year I was putting a bushing in until I had a shaft made to the proper length. The bushing is important and will hopefully tighten it up a while. Might be worth a shot. If it seems to cure your problems for a short time maybe then look...- Tiha

Is my trans shot?
Yes it can have codes without a light showing. Also, fluid condition? Have you changed it or flushed it lately? The wire harness runs very close to the exhaust on the RR of the trans. Would check those things first.- Tiha

Death wobble while braking: my 2016 F250 is getting loose. When hard braking at 65 mph .

I agree, will be interesting to see how it is a year from now. From all the Chatter on FB and other sites, seems like these are sold out everywhere and only a couple sites are allowing pre orders. Hope it is as good as they claim. Nice to have more than one option.- Tiha

P0403 P0405 are EGR codes, if the EGR is gone you can ignore them for now. P0603 is like the old KAM, keep alive memory. Normal if the batteries were dead, or disconnected. P1000 is drive Monitor test not complete. So basically you are good to go. Need to drive it some and see if more...- Tiha

I think those are EGR codes, pretty common because it is most likely deleted already. Agree with the go back to stock and get it running right before you do custom tunning. It will not brick it unless the previous owner did something really weird. If the injectors are bigger than stock, they...- Tiha

Latest problem. Truck has been sitting, it has been very cold. Started it up last night. Kicked high idle on to let it warm up. Ambient temp was like 25 degrees. Gray haze, smoke was dense. Truck started missing. Eventually stopped missing, still had gray haze from exhaust but not as bad...
