Think my rear main is leaking...

I am not discounting that method at all. I may very well end up going this route : "degrease everything, apply red (liquid hydraulic) Loctite to the inner diameter of the wear sleeve. apply a decent amount of the "International Gray" silicone sealant (don't use the paper gasket, if it was...

Think my rear main is leaking...

Thank you for the link. I downloaded the pdf on rear main replacement. As for the link to the other forum; that method probably works good but until I see it myself I am not 100% about it. I would feel much better if I had the right tools for the job. I will drop the tranny and will inspect...

Think my rear main is leaking...

So far the cheapest I have found the tool set is $274 on Amazon. Seem like a really good price based on the prices I have seen elsewhere. http://www.amazon.com/OTC-7835-Rear-Main-Seal/dp/B000ARDZB4/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=23GNN0IAZ19MS&coliid=I399TO0YK9M98P

Think my rear main is leaking...

I just got done replacing my hpop and doing an EBPV delete and that engine valley is clean enough to eat of off. I check it everyday for leaks and there are none in the valley. I have also thoroughly inspected the back of the heads and everywhere else I can think of for an oil leak. It is...

Think my rear main is leaking...

EBPV and fuel bowl were both leaking pretty bad. Just finished with my EBPV delete/RR/turbo/hpop swap and cleaned up all the oil in the intake valley real good. Well, still got a leak; appears to be coming from the weep holes in the botton of my ZF. It is also coming out with enough "force" it...

What have you done to your powerstroke today?

Let us know what you think of the 180* thermostat. I am running the 203* currently; thinking about a 180* myself. I like that location for the coolant filter as well. Good job!

    Questions - Turbo/pedistal/orings

It was oil and soot. It was also in the turbo inlet/outlet as well. Yeah I did not think it was supposed to do that but thought I would ask anyway.

    Questions - Turbo/pedistal/orings

Ok have another question (not that anyone has been answering); if you put oil in a 38R should it leak out into the exhaust and intake sides of the turbo? I oiled the bearings like instructed before I ever installed the turbo but I had it sitting in my office last night after taking it back to...

    Questions - Turbo/pedistal/orings

After further inspecting the 38R last night the smaller hole extends about an inch and the turns into a pin hole. I am thinking that is the feed port and the larger hole is the return/drian.

    Need Help!!!

Well I got the turbo off last night and could not find the large oring between the pedistal and turbo; but I know it was there. I might have dropped it when taking the turbo off. The orings between the pedistal and block looked good and lined up well. After further inspection it looked like...

    Questions - Turbo/pedistal/orings

On a 38R is the large hole the return or the oil feed port? Just took off my 38R & non-EBPV pedistal and the large hole looks pretty dry. It has been running well for a week besides showing a small leak. Is one type/color of oring better than another? THe originals were yellow. I have seen...
