    Detroit Truetrac setup

A good friend is a mechanic by day so he did the work and I just watched and helped when I could. Pretty easy for someone that knew what he was doing. But I still won't do one after watching him.

    Detroit Truetrac setup

I did the front a few weeks ago and the factory shims got me spot on, used all new bearings and seals too. *edit* I used factory R&P. Doubt it's the case if you go all new.

    Reliable rig?

Man that is some serious hardware!! Good luck, looking forward to the build. I've heard of alot of problems with that transmission too, might rebuild it before the trip and get some miles on it.

    Faster Spool

GH-Matt is conservative with the down low fueling is all i'm saying. He likes a totally smoke free tune, which I totally understand. But it takes a little fuel to get things moving. I now run tunes from Tyrant and Midwest and am very happy with both.

    Faster Spool

Get different tunes. Mine was gutless down low with GH too. It is too aggressive on the low-boost-fueling IMO. It isnt dirty by any means now, but actually gets down when I want it to get down!

Question when Tuned on 2 devices

Oh does SCT swap them for "street" units now? If so, then a good reason to not have SCT unlock it, a few others can do it too.

Question when Tuned on 2 devices

How is the SCT a brick now? Just have it unlocked.

Hmm, what mod(s) to do to this new heap?

What a waste, who puts resi shocks on a highway cruiser?

    Reliable rig?

Get a command unit and you're mostly there!

    Reliable rig?

That would work, but gets significantly more expensive. Also if you go with a newer platform you're back with a modern-ish diesel. I sold my good running deuce for $3500. Older 2.5 or 5 ton will have multifuel, but less amenities. Lots of badass builds on steel soldiers for sale usually.

    Reliable rig?

Deuce, land cruiser, anything safari capable.

    rocker arm lubrication

The problem I see is that it would take a fair bit of R&D to get the proper amount of lubrication without overdoing it. Possible? Sure. They do stuff like this in custom engine builds all the time, but they do the necessary homework to get it right.

    08 F450

It would be fine without the mini, it just works as a monitor when not loading the tune. Depending on how the ******* checks things, it should still be able to flash the truck, it will just download the current tune as the "stock" setting in the *******.

    Reliable rig?

You don't even need the working fuel adjuster, it's actually absent on alot of them(mine was). Still runs any fuel just fine. I wouldn't think fuel mixture leave would be the killer though. Mine got 10-11 mpg with mostly free fuel(used oil). What about a diesel land cruiser?

6.4 powerstroke rough idle at start

Sounds like a sticky injector or something along that line. You run any fuel treatment?

    Reliable rig?

If I was going on an expedition, a modern electronic diesel would be at the bottom of the list for powerplant choices. Stick with an old mechanical diesel. Just get a 70's Deuce with a multifuel and call it good lol
