Blew an intercooler boot...oil?

How much play in and out? That's what really matters. Since a journal bearing turbo rides on a film of oil, all of them will have some side to side play.

I guess we'll see if this will work. If not most of it will go on the 6.4, and I'll have a nice and expensive billet desk piece.

Has anyone successfully ran the cooler plate with the van filter housing without issues? The more people I talk to the more issues I hear with extended crank / drain back issues.

is anyone running the MPD oil cooler relocation kit?

That isn't true. An oil thermostat is not like a coolant thermostat. It has a leakage percentage (around 10%) that still allows flow through the cooler to help prevent thermal shocking.

Diesel site pump vs dual pumps

Yep. You're pretty much stuck upgrading to the 05+ setup to run dual pumps (or run a RCD thumper), or just go with the early style diesel site pump.
