What to look for

i'm not in the rust belt so i cant comment on rust issues. in all my experience with buying any rig, the biggest thing i look for is maintenance history. ive been burned a few times on rigs that "were well taken care of". if the seller doesent have a book of maintenance history, i simply will...

Brakes?

Powerslot rotors and hawk pads on my excursion. Definatly stops WAY better than stock. I've had trouble finding hawk pads before, but usually can find them with a little searching. I'm looking for better calipers right now because I plan on buying a 27'+ toy hauler and some four wheelers soon.

What to look for

I'm assuming you are looking at the 7.3 and not the v10. With the amount of miles id look for boost leaks. And really work the trans if it is still the origional. These things weigh quite a bit. The suspension is the MAJOR weak point on the ex. If you buy it I would give cary a call for the...

Serious Question

how long does a tank last? i may be out of line here, but if a person can afford a 60k+ truck, are $40 fillups of urea really breaking the bank?

magnaflow exhaust?

I sent the seller a message and he replied that it was just a few sections of pipe, although he had it listed as a complete exhaust for a 7.3 excursion. Knew it was too good to be true.

any one running magnaflow? i found a complete kit shipped for roughly 100 bucks. i've seen some of their exhausts for gassers, but never for a diesel.

suggestions on snow tires

The family and I just moved to kodiak, ak. Everyone and their dog is saying to get a good set of snow tires. Seems that we get a decent amound of snow here, but the real problem is the amount of ice and lack of good maintenance of the roads. Currently I'm runnin 35" toyo m/t's. I know for a fact...

Imo, bts or a jw is a way better way to go. Go get on a duramax forum and see how many of them have troubles with that pile. Any stock trans is not gonna last long with more than stock hp. They just aren't designed for it. I have a bts in my excursion. I love it and it never complains no matter...
