    Dash Part ID

Hey all, Can someone ID what Ford actually calls this part of the stereo/dash? The plastic molding that goes around all the controls/stereo/and two air vents? I would like to replace mine that has a crack in it with a new one but I dont know what the part is actually called in the catalogs...

Help/Opinions on rust (pic) and solutions through warranty/out of pocket?

I agree now that replacing it is the only way to go. I wouldn't be able to not think about it otherwise. Most beds I am finding within pick up range are either not new take offs and have some damage or are so close in price that I might as well just buy the ford bed direct and have the work...

Help/Opinions on rust (pic) and solutions through warranty/out of pocket?

Update: Still waiting on Ford warranty verdict (I know its a long shot). Quotes from Ford Dealer: New bed $2090 Paint and install $800 So I can get a new bed for $2890 or Sandblast/Linex for around $850 and hope it holds up. The ford body shop guys said its in good enough shape (the underside...

Help/Opinions on rust (pic) and solutions through warranty/out of pocket?

My ford dealer isnt exactly the most knowledgeable but I got some good info. 1. Apparently this isnt as bad as it seems and can most likely be blasted/sealed/linex'd 2. A bed floor is an option ($600 from ford) but they were unable to quote labor time frame 3. A new bed is $2000 but they were...

Help/Opinions on rust (pic) and solutions through warranty/out of pocket?

Ok so bed is about $1700 and paint etc is another $1700...so about $3400 total. Thats not great by any means but I did somehow think it might be more. I have found a few short beds but the travel time and or shipping and painting will add up just as quickly to about the same from ford. How much...

Help/Opinions on rust (pic) and solutions through warranty/out of pocket?

Good to know. Thats what I am really hoping for (even out of pocket). It seems that the sides and front are fine if they are treated and sealed. And then linexed. I've spoken with a few shops and a local sandblaster. I definitely have options. Finding a way to replace the floor seems ideal in...

Help/Opinions on rust (pic) and solutions through warranty/out of pocket?

I dont want to go to cheap just bc this is a big investment in this truck now. I will definitely linex it. My main worry is that if it isnt sandblasted/primed/sealed/etc. that it will eventually eat through the bottom and then further eventually into the struts etc. I really want to just cut...

Help/Opinions on rust (pic) and solutions through warranty/out of pocket?

Honestly, I got a good deal on the truck price wise. Very good deal overall. I would literally entertain a bed from ford for a couple reason... 1. be done with the mess and feel better about my purchase 2. have the work done by ford Any ideas what they charge for a new bed at ford? I'm sure...

Help/Opinions on rust (pic) and solutions through warranty/out of pocket?

Makes sense. I agree with the assessment. Makes me very angry either way. What are my repair options from the looks of it? Can the floor be replaced by Ford (out of pocket if no warranty etc) or a good body shop and then have the other surface rust areas cleaned up? About how much should...

Help/Opinions on rust (pic) and solutions through warranty/out of pocket?

Being that it is a 2011 and a bed liner has been used I would hope that they would at least work with me on some of it. It technically falls under their corrosion warranty if I am understanding it properly. My 5 years would be up in January 2016 since the date of manufacture was 01/11.

Help/Opinions on rust (pic) and solutions through warranty/out of pocket?

FYI there is a bed liner on it. The truck was not used without the liner. This pic was taken when I took the bed liner off to check out the bed. I think this is more from those stupid bed liners allowing moisture to sit under them. Thanks for the replies.

Help/Opinions on rust (pic) and solutions through warranty/out of pocket?

The underside seems fine. It doesn't show any rust coming through but the couple soft spots can be seen from the underside.

Help/Opinions on rust (pic) and solutions through warranty/out of pocket?

It was used to haul plants/landscaping equipment. I'm wondering if it will require more than just a sandblast etc. There are two spots that are now soft where the rust has done so much damage. FYI. Will that require the floor to be replaced? Honestly I'm pretty worried so if the floor being...

Help/Opinions on rust (pic) and solutions through warranty/out of pocket?

Hey everyone, Needing some serious help (a bit stressed). I found out some "Minor" rust was not as minor as expected (picture attached). The bedsides are in excellent shape on the outside as expected and I believe the inner bedsides are fine with the exception of some surface rust. The...

    Used 2011 6.7 Purchase

Hey everyone, Getting into the diesel world for the first time and had a few questions about aftermarket 6.7 equipment. My lack of knowledge outside of basic diesel engines will be pretty apparent. Thanks in advance for any info. 1. Other than the obvious legality issues of some states, what...
