Video, no smoke on warm idle on W85

QaogtoS5iEY This is my IDI Turbo fully warmed up running W85. My IP is turned up so I do get smoke on acceleration. I also get some startup smoke but I haven't taken a video yet (I'm new at youtube LOL)

"Down the line" Cummins swap, suggestions wanted.

With the very real possibility that a close friend may purchase my 911 I am considering a Cummins swap for my truck. I'd like to eventually make 400-500hp at the wheels without spending more than I need to. Which engine would be best? 12v, 24v, common rail? I don't expect to go beyond that level...

    D60 Front, dually conversion?

How difficult is it to convert an 89 front D60 to dually so I can run the same wheels all around? Anything wrong with just machining up a set of adapters from some blanks of steel? I've got a machine shop. Did the later model dually 4wd trucks (not an option in 89) have larger brakes or anything...

Will more than 10psi really kill my 7.3 IDI?

I hear this all over the place, that I'll wreck my engine if I go much past 10psi. I'd like to go 15 or even 20 psi. The DB2 should be good for 350hp give or take and I'd like to get close to that. I've got a Banks sidewinder. It rarely pegs the the boost anyway and EGT's have never been above...

5.8 gas to 6.9 IDI in an '89

Made a deal with my neighbor who just wants a 2wd diesel to drive for his business to save fuel costs running blended waste oils. The deal is I got a DRW conversion 4wd gas truck for parts. Going to move front and rear axles between it and my CCLB truck so I wind up with 4wd DRW and he'll have a...

    de-watering methods

Here's what I've learned: Upflow processing, works great for "free" water and some emulsified water, takes 2-3 days to make a batch Adding 15% RUG then mixing. Needs to settle a minimum of 1-2 days if the oil is emulsified (milky). Leaves sludge in the bottom of the barrel Boiling. Garantteed to...

    WMO How to thread

First some acronyms WMO: waste motor oil WATF: waste transmission fluid RUG: regular unleaded gasoline D2: pump diesel W85: approximately 85% WMO to 15% RUG blend. Some users add 15% RUG to the WMO such as 40 gallons WMO and 6 gallons RUG which is actually 87/13 or others calculate by...
